Checklist of things needed before video interview shooting date

To ensure the efficient creation of the video for your case, we have prepared a list of items that we require before conducting interviews with the witnesses and victims at the location:

1. Date of mediation or focus group if already scheduled (very important)
2. Contact information of person handling arrangements for interviews
3. Date and location of the interviews (we need time to arrange travel, accommodations, and an Airbnb for interviews. It serves as accommodations for the cameraman to set up early and allows for a neutral environment without distractions. We do not want the victim to look poor, or need money)
4. List of witnesses, with proper spelling of names to be interviewed (4–5 persons that knew victim before incident) and their relationship to the victim. Witness number is limited to 5 people. The video is 10–12 minutes and 4–5 is more than enough to get the information without being redundant.
5. List of any special requirements (wheelchair accessible location)
6. Summary of facts in the case or Complaint (listing all plaintiffs and defendants)
7. Pictures and videos of the victim and what they liked to do, prior to the incident — this helps build the story of a full life and helps for memory recall for the interviews. We need baby pictures, childhood adventures, school, hobbies, sports, vacations, holidays, weddings, and any important moments in the plaintiff’s life.

9. List of medically accurate injuries (if victim survived) along with X-rays if available. If there is a life care plan, we will need that as well.
10. Accurate description and details of all injuries with medical names to be used for the voiceover.
    Example: Jim suffered a fractured pelvis and an acute subdural hemorrhage and was placed on mechanical ventilation. An emergency right frontal craniotomy evacuation was performed and active bleeding was detected.
11. Pictures, video, and audio of anything pertaining to the incident, i.e. body / dashcams, 911 calls
12. List of points needed — if there are specific points you need in the video, please send them so we can ensure to include them in the interview and editing process.
13. Day of Shoot — tactfully help your clients understand that we want them to dress like they would for court. Nice collared shirt or polo for men. For women, modestly cover as much skin as possible. Try to cover up tattoos as much as possible and remove face piercings if possible. We have nothing against tattoos or piercings and even have them ourselves, but we don’t want them wrongly judged by an adjuster.

Interviews will be conducted individually; no witnesses will be allowed in while filming another witness. Each interview lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes. We understand that speaking with a stranger about personal stories with cameras and lighting is very daunting. We can arrange a call with your client to discuss details and address any questions, helping to reduce tension.
